It’s time to end UK companies profiting from human rights abuses.

Right now, companies can profit from causing harm and exploiting people. They face little or no consequences.

Stories of abuse, dangerous working conditions, and environmental destruction are all too common behind the products we buy in the UK.

This year we have a unique opportunity to bring an end to this.

We can secure a change years in the making, as momentum builds around the introduction of a Business, Human Rights and Environment Act.

What we need

We must demonstrate the vast extent of public support for this new law - and we have a plan:

We’re asking for at least one church, faith group or community group in every UK constituency to publicly back this law - by signing our declaration.

There are more than 30,000 churches in the UK - and many more groups. If even half of those took a stand, we’d raise a call for justice the like of which has not been seen for decades.

What is a Business, Human Rights and Environment act?

A BHREA would require companies to prevent harm before it happens - helping ensure that products sold in the UK are free from exploitation and abuse.

A similar law was passed in the EU in 2024, and individual European countries like France, Germany and Norway have laws that require some level of human rights due diligence.

The UK needs to follow suit.

Together, we can build a future where:

  • Companies take responsibility for their actions

  • Workers can speak out without fear

  • The stories behind our products are stories of fairness and safety

This is a huge opportunity, as a new law is currently being considered in Parliament. Showing the government that communities up and down the country want this to happen is crucial.

We’re building a nationwide movement

You and your group will receive tools and resources to understand the issue and take action together.

We’ll support you to engage your MP - through writing, meetings or creative approaches.

We’ll invite you to campaigner webinars and training to build confidence and skills.

There will be opportunities to connect with other local groups, from events to shared actions - boosting your impact and reach.

There will be the chance to take part in a nationwide creative action later in the year - as communities pass on a call for justice across the UK.

Our goal is simple but ambitious:

To see at least one community group in every UK constituency publicly backing this law.

We’re inviting individuals to sign a declaration on behalf of their church, faith group or community organisation, showing that people across the UK stand for justice.

Because when communities speak, decision makers listen.

Here’s how it will work:

To be heard in Westminster, the message must be loud and clear from all across the country:

No More Profit From Harm.
