Take action to support fair treatment for farmers.
Tell your MP to back a new regulator.
A proposal has been put forward in Parliament calling for stronger protections and better regulation of the food supply chain - and your MP needs to know about it.
Farmers, growers and their workers in the UK and around the world are still being treated unfairly by supermarkets, with many forced to accept order cancellations without notice and late payments.
This is a huge opportunity to push for fairer treatment for farmers at home and abroad.

Our movement fought for the Groceries Code Adjudicator.
It’s time to strengthen it.
In 2013, on the back of thousands of us raising our voices, the Government created the Supermarkets Watchdog (Groceries Code Adjudicator - GCA) - an independent body to ensure that supermarkets treat their suppliers fairly and legally.
The GCA matters to farmers overseas because UK supermarkets don’t just buy from British farmers – more than half of our food comes from abroad. Too often, small farmers and exporters around the world face unfair treatment - like last-minute cancellations - because of decisions made in the UK. These practices breach the Groceries Supply Code of Practice, which the biggest supermarkets are supposed to follow.
Right now, the UK’s supermarket watchdog (the Groceries Code Adjudicator) only monitors the 14 largest retailers. But unfair practices are often passed down the chain through importers and manufacturers, letting supermarkets off the hook and leaving farmers overseas to carry the cost with no way to complain.

Ask your MP to sign the motion today
The more MPs who sign the motion, which is recognised as the main mechanism in Parliament for MPs to signal their support, the more pressure there is on the government to act. If enough people write to their MP, we can drive forward real change that protects farmers, the environment, and our food system.
By writing to your MP and asking them to support this you can help build a fairer system for the people who produce our food.
