Joint letter to Andy Burnham on his first day in office as Prime Minister of the UK

Transform Trade, along with the Fairtrade Foundation and The Trade Justice Movement, have written a joint letter to new Prime Minister Andy Burnham on his first day in office, setting out our shared vision for a better, fairer trade system. As the new Prime Minister sets his legislative and policy agenda, we want him to prioritise tacking injustice in the trade system, and build on Labour’s positive track record on aid and debt to harness the power of trade as a positive force for good.

In this letter, we outline our shared vision and five key strategies we’d like to see in action - from reestablishing the UK as a good global player in trade negotiations, to delivering on responsible business practice here in the UK and overseas.
